Townhouse Jumilhac-le-Grand***

Something completely different….

Aside from our shared holiday domain ‘La Rame’ in Chalais, we also offer a completely private townhouse in the nearby village of Jumilhac-le-Grand.

We found this house a few years ago, and fell in love with it and the gorgeous setting. It needed a lot of loving care, but we are very proud to have created a charming town house with 2 bedrooms and 2 shower rooms with toilet over two floors.

Newly renovated to a very high standard, so you get all the comforts you need in a modern holiday home, but with some original features still in place. Cute front garden with raised porch to watch the world go by and a big private back garden with covered terrace. Fully equipped kitchen and washing machine. The upstairs bathroom has a big walk-in shower. Central heating and hot water generated by a new heat pump.

The house is situated in the centre of a beautiful old village which is dominated by the magnificent fairytale castle of Jumilhac with at its feet the river l’Isle. You even have a view of the castle from the private back garden.

Shops, bakery, hairdressers, 2 restaurants, post office, tourist office, ATM machine, 2 restaurants and a tea room all within easy walking distance in the village.

At 15 minutes drive you’ll find 2 thriving market towns, Thiviers and Saint-Yrieix-le Perche.

The town of Jumilhac is in the national parc Périgord-Limousin, on the route du richard coeur de lion (Richard Lionheart). There is stunning scenery, walks and lakes all around. 
In the house you will find a little gift from the local tourist office, with lots of local guides and flyers. The tourist office in the village also has lots of information about local walks and trails.

On hot days you can splash about in the river at the foot of the castle, go to one of the swimming lakes nearby, or use the public swimming pool in the village.

Perfectly located for day trips out into the Dordogne or Haute-Vienne regions, where you can visit towns such a Sarlat-la-Canéda, Rocamadour, Montignac-Lascaux, Domme and Limoges, and many more historic towns, rivers and castles.

Bed, bath and kitchen linen are included in the price.
